Vasyl Ivanovych Pehnyo is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, doctor of chemical sciences, professor, widely known scientist in the field of inorganic chemistry and chemistry of complex compounds, metals of the platinum group, biometals and gold. Honored worker of science and technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, director of the V. I. Vernadsky Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
