New in the chemistry of acetylene sulfones
  • Summary: Literary data for the last 15 years on chemistry of sulfones containing acetylene fragment near sulfur atom have been summarized and systematized. Alongside with consideration of new synthesis methods for these compounds, the major attention in the review was paid to the possibilities of acetylenesulfones usage as “building blocks” in organic synthesis for obtaining biologically active organic molecules of more complicated structure.

Synthesis, structure and properties of BaTi1–xZrxO3 thin films obtained by sol–gel technology
  • Summary: Nanoparticles and thin film materials based on BaTi1–xZrxO3 (BZT) solid solutions with use sol–gel technology have been obtained. The process of sol–gel solutions formation has been investigated. Probable structure of the coordination polymers formed during sol–gel solutions formation has been offered. The solid solutions BZT have been sown to form at relatively low temperatures. Obtained BZT (0.3 ≤ х ≤ 0.5) films demonstrated at microwave frequency range (14 GHz) dielectric permittivity ε= 200—500 and dielectric losses tgδ ≈ 10–1.

A new lithium-promoted regioselectivesynthetic method for complexing ligands based on diesters of 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylicacids
  • Summary: It was found a new ion-promoted regioselective reaction of activation the alkoxycarbonyl group at the 2-nd position of diester pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acids which leads to the formation of 5-alkoxycarbonyl- 2-pyridinehydroxamic acid, 5-alkoxycarbonyl- 2-pyridinecarboxylic acid and its hydrazides. A series of regioselective substituted products was obtained and their structures were established. We developed preparative synthetic methods of substituted non symmetric 2,5- pyridinedicarboxylic acids, their hydrazides and hydroxamic acids, which are a perspective ligands for the synthesis of polynuclear metal complexes and metallacrowns. The mechanism of the lithium-promoted regioselective synthesis of hydroxamic acids and regioselective dealkylation of carboxylic esters in the 2-position with formation of esters of 5-carboxy-2-pyridinecarboxylic acids has been proposed.

Synthesis, physico-chemical properties of Gd(III) and Dy(III) complexes with ethylenediaminedisuccinicacid
  • Summary: Lanthanide complexes ofGd(III) and Dy(III) with ethylenedi- aminedisuccinic acid at ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 have been synthesized. Composition and structure of the synthesized compounds in solutions and in the solid state also their main physico-chemical characteristics were studied. Formation of the set of complexes of different protic composition established depending on the pH and their stability constants were calculated. It is shown that f-metal ions are coordinated with oxygen atoms of carboxyl groups and the amino-nitrogen atoms of the ligand. The spectral-luminescent properties of the synthesized compounds found and UV region luminescence in solution detected for complexes. The highest intensity of luminescence is observed for the 1:2 complex of Gd(III) (Ilum =4.8.108). Quantum yields of 4f-luminescence for complexes Dyedds and Dy(edds)2 are 0.014 and 0.021 respectively. The study of the toxicity and sterility of edds lanthanide complexes show that they are non-toxic compounds (LD50 = 2550 and 2800mg/kg and Gdedds Dyedds respectively).

Spectroscopicstudy of influence of medium on character of CeF3 and EuF2 interaction with NaNO3—KNO3/ melt
  • Summary: With methods of electronic spectroscopy of diffuse reflectance, IR and luminescent spectroscopy composition of products of interaction of CeF3 and EuF2 with NaNO3—KNO3 melt at 350 °С in an inert medium (He) and in the medium of air is studied. The fact of oxidation of cerium (III) fluoride and europium (II) fluoride to CeO2 and europium (III) oxyfluoride, respectively, is established. Possibility of formation of products of reaction in the ultra-disperse form is supposed.

New quaternary alumogermanides with the structure type Tb2NiAl4Ge2
  • Summary: Nine new quaternary compounds R2CoAl4Ge2 (R = Y, Sm,Gd, Tb,Dy,Ho, Tm, Yb, Lu) were synthesized by arc-melting and their crystal structures determined by X-ray powder diffraction. The compounds crystallize in the tetragonal structure type Tb2NiAl4Ge2 (Pearson symbol tI18, space group I4/ mmm). In the structure along the crystallographic direction [001] two kinds of layer that contain cubes alternate. One kind of layer is built by cubes of composition Al8, every second cube being centered by Co atom, where as another kind of layer consists of slightly deformed empty cubes of composition R4Ge4.

Sinthesisof graphene materials for electrodes of chemical power sources
  • Summary: Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) was obtained by chemical synthesis from multi walled carbon nanotubes. Using a suitable oxidant, we longitudinally “unzipped” nanotubes to form graphene oxide nanoribbons and then obtained RGO with a proper reductant. Standard redox potentials of carboxy groups were used for choosing oxidant and reductant. It has been shown that the required oxidant potential in acid medium should be more +0.528V and reductant potential in alkaline medium — less –1.148V. Current-potential curves for oxygen electrodes based on RGO, obtained by using the oxidants K2Cr2O7,KMnO4 and reductants NaH2PO2, Na2SO3, were analyzed. The electrochemical characteristics ofRGO in the oxygen reduction reaction were depended on the redox power of the reagents. We demonstrated that obtained RGO could be promising material for oxygen electrodes of fuel cells.

Physicochemical properties of SnO2/MoO3 nanostructures synthesized in the KNO3 melt
  • Summary: Microstructure and gas sensitivity (S) to the ethanol and acetone vapors of electroconductivity of thick films based on SnO2/MoO3 (0—10%mol) powders, synthesized in the KNO3 melt (450 °C) were studied. By methods of XRD, TEM, EDX-analysis, conductivity was shown that SnO2/MoO3 is cassiterite, grain size of SnO2 (11—30 nm) decreases with increasing ofMoO3 concentration, and the S is increased up to 10% MoO3 content for ethanol. The experimental data is explainable for the case of SnO2/MoO3 nanocomposite formation with additional adsorption sites on the acid type ions ofMo(VI).

The influence polybutadieneof various the molecular mass on kinetics adsorption of polydimethylsiloxane from thesolutions of their mixtures
  • Summary: Kinetics of polydimethylsiloxane and polybutadiene adsorption from the solutions of their mixtures has been studied depending on the molecular mass of one of the polymer. Values of bound segment fraction, surface coverage, and energy of adsorption interaction were calculated. The influence of the molecular mass of polymers onto adsorption activity and conformation of the preferably adsorbed polymer is discussed.

Topological characteristics ofan individual three-dimensional structure element. Numerical experiment
  • Summary: Monte–Carlo simulation of the formation of an individual three-dimensional structure element (ITDSE) under the conditions of free radical polymerization of tetrafunctional monomer has been performed for the first time. The kinetics of variation of some topological parameters (the number of cross-links and rings, contribution of elementary-reaction mechanisms to ring formation and cross-linking, etc), which charecterize ITDSE, have been established.
